RAZMIRAN ADEPT

"It's not a cult. Everyone says that, but the Razmiran faith is a fully-legitimate and internationally-recognized religion. Razmir, the Living God, Wise Beyond Ages, Sage of Our Age, is a benevolent ruler and inheritor of Aroden's legacy as humanity's savior. Look at the humanitarian work His field medics do for the Wiscrani resistance. Look at the revolutionary transportation system His artificers have built. It's not a cult, it's a faith."

You joined a cult.

You're an adept of the Razmiran faith, devoted servant to the Living God, self-appointed inheritor of Aroden's legacy. You've never actually seen the Living God or been to Thronestep, but you've heard some good things. Mostly you've dedicated yourself to spreading the Razmiran faith and acting as a field medic in triage hospitals on the Cheliax-Andoran border during the war. It's good work and you've helped a lot of people, even made some converts too. You don't get why everyone is so worked up about it sometimes.

BENEFIT

You gain a +1 bonus on all Heal checks.

BENEFIT

You begin play with a masterwork mask that grants a +1 circumstance bonus on Intimidate checks when worn.

What You've Gotten Yourself Into

  • You joined a cult. Honestly, I'm impressed. I didn't think you had it in you. But look at you, wearing the robes, wearing that mask, saying all the special words. That sure is something.

  • You've been a battlefield triage medic for a couple of years now and that's not easy work. You've seen a lot of people die from horrific injuries, but you've also saved just as many. That feels pretty good

  • You were converted to the Razmiran faith when you were young. Not a child, but barely an adult. They got you when you were directionless, impressionable, and willing to be told your role in the bigger picture.

  • You've converted some people, too. Not directly, admittedly. But you've gotten people interested and sent them up to a Razmiran Ascendant temple in northern Andoran where they can learn more about the faith. You've never been there, but it must be nice.

  • Your fellow Razmirites are pretty dour folks. Dutiful, strict, orderly. They've all been to Thronestep and talk about it like it's one big festival. One of these days you have to go there, because that's the only way to ascend to the next step in the faith, which you assume is pretty good to do.

  • Some people are uncomfortable around you, but they don't go out of their way to talk about it. You think it might be the spooky iron mask, or maybe it's the completely wrong reputation Razmiran has for "conquering" neighboring nations. They weren't conquered they were converted.

Who You Are

  • Let's be real, you're pretty naïve. You got told a bunch of flowery things by some spooky son of a bitch in a porcelain mask and just accepted it as fact. Were you desperate? Rebellious? Just that much of a sucker? Either way it hasn't been all that bad, so maybe there is bliss in ignorance.

  • Or... maybe you really just like all of this? Sure, the Razmiran faith has some holes in its tenets, and Razmir himself hasn't really done a lot personally to assert his claims to divinity, but the faith itself does good work and you do good work. That's gotta mean something, right?

  • You're a healer. Maybe you're not a great one, but you try! Trying counts.

  • You haven't been to Thronestep, the capital of Razmiran, yet. But one of these days you're going to. You'd love to see the Throne of the Living God and ascend to the next Step of the faith.

  • You probably think the Lightning Rail is pretty fucking cool. It's a vehicle powered by magic that crosses an entire continent and Razmir designed it himself which makes it kind of a divine gift to humanity. Unfortunately it's pretty expensive to ride and they don't give you any discounts.
