FATED

"I'm sorry, I don't know. I've consulted every symbology archive in the library and there is no match to your birth-mark. The spiral evokes Pharasmin themes, but I can't say beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's related. I'm sorry, I wish there was more I could do."

You were born with an auspicious mark. But unfortunately, unlike all those other auspicious marks, this one has so far defied identification. It has all the qualities of a birthmark, except it has all the design aesthetic of a tattoo a sailor might've gotten after an overnight stay in a Jalmeray port. But as far as you know you've never been to Jalmeray, and the last archivist you spoke to said it wasn't a symbol from that culture, either.

BENEFIT

You begin play with 4 Fate points instead of 3.

BENEFIT

When you use Fate to improve a d20 roll, you gain a +5 bonus instead of +4.

What You've Gotten Yourself Into

New Project (6).png
  • So you've got that on your body somewhere. It's geometric, it's spirals, it's weird, and nobody seems to know where it came from.

  • The symbol is worrying. Every time you look at it, ever since you've been little, it makes you uncomfortable and twists the pit of your stomach. It's like you know something but can't remember what.

  • It's a great conversation starter: Hey look at this, does it look like anything to you? Ancient symbol of royalty? Sworn to a demon prince? Anything? No? Okay.

  • It's a point of fascination for most scholars. It isn't often you can baffle a Pathfinder with a little symbol. Everyone seems to project a little of themselves into it, too. Religious people believe it's a religious symbol, arcane-types think it's some kind of eldritch sign.

  • But, really, what is it?

Who You Are

  • You're lucky. I'm not just talking fortunate, either. You're frustratingly lucky. Always on time, always arriving at just the right moment. Opportunities just seem to fall into your lap.

  • But when your luck runs out boy does it run out. You've had a few stretches of really bad times in your life, periods where you thought it couldn't get any worse and then wham right in the face.

  • But you're also a survivor. No matter how bad things get, you've always managed to claw your way back from the bottom with a little leftover to show you were there.

  • But you can't help shake there's something missing in your life. That symbol makes you feel like there's unfinished business somewhere down the line, and not just getting an answer to a life-long question.

  • And lately it feels like you're being watched...
